Founded in 1963.
Penco Tool was founded in 1963 by Lee Pendleton in the Ashtabula Harbor as a small tool shop specializing in custom machining. As the company grew, so did its capabilities, evolving into a trusted manufacturer of large compression and injection molds. This growth led to the construction of Penco Tool's current 18,000-square-foot facility on West Avenue in Ashtabula, Ohio.
From 1999 to 2008, Penco Tool operated as a subsidiary of Midwest Tooling Group, an integrated network of plastic mold manufacturers and specialty tooling companies. In 2008, the company became Penco Tool, LLC under the ownership of Brian Lewis, continuing to build its reputation for producing high-quality molds and delivering exceptional craftsmanship.
In January 2018, ownership transitioned to Steven Pendleton, R. Jeff Nemerovsky, and Nathan Blood, beginning an exciting new chapter for the company. Having dedicated many years to Penco Tool before becoming owners, Jeff Nemerovsky and Nathan Blood demonstrated the company's commitment to promoting from within and investing in the growth and development of its employees.
As of 2026, Nathan Blood, Justin Blood, and Justin Howe, are the current owners of Penco Tool. Having each dedicated many years to the company, they understand every aspect of the business and have played an important role in its continued success. Their leadership reflects the values Penco Tool was built on which is hard work, craftsmanship, and a commitment to quality. As they lead the company into the future, they remain dedicated to investing in their employees, expanding capabilities, and delivering the exceptional tooling solutions customers have trusted for more than 60 years.
